Our Meticulous Rug-Making Journey

At Tripura Carpets, we take immense pride in the artistry and dedication that goes into crafting each of our rugs, following a meticulous process from selecting the finest materials to creating a masterpiece that graces your home. By the end of this phase, we’ll have everything we need: a guide to follow, the fundamentals of design and graphics, and the right tools and methods to use.

  • Wool Sourcing

Wool is sourced from sheep farmers and then washed to remove dirt.
  • Carding

The sourced wool is combed to ensure no fibers are intermingled. This process also removes all foreign particles.
  • Spinning

Wool fibers are drawn and twisted to create yarns of the desired thickness, which determines the quality of the carpets.
  • Ball Making

Once the yarns are spun, they are carefully wound into balls. This step ensures that the yarns are neatly organized and ready for the dyeing process. The balls are made with precision to avoid any tangles or knots, ensuring smooth handling during the subsequent steps.
  • Dyeing

Wool is dyed with natural vegetable dye or AZO-free synthetic dyes (Swiss) according to customer demand.
  • Designing

In consultation with customers, our in-house design team prepares a blueprint for the carpet, detailing color, size, shape, and quality (knots).
  • Weaving

Weavers create the carpets on vertical looms according to the design.
  • Trimming

Design patterns are carved out using scissors.
  • Washing

The carpets are washed with fresh water to remove dirt, then with household chemicals to restore wool shine and ensure they are germ-free. They are then dried in sunlight for 4-5 days.
  • Streching

After drying, the carpets are stretched to ensure they maintain their shape and size. This step is crucial in preventing any warping or distortion, ensuring that the rug lies flat and even on the floor.
  • Binding

The edges of the carpet are then bound to prevent fraying and ensure durability. Our artisans use a combination of traditional techniques and modern methods to create a secure and long-lasting edge.
  • Clipping

The final step involves clipping any excess fibers to achieve a smooth and even surface. This ensures that the rug has a professional finish and is ready for the final inspection.
  • Final Finishing

Each rug undergoes a final inspection to ensure it meets our high standards of quality. Any minor imperfections are corrected, and the rug is given a final polish to enhance its appearance.
  • Packing

Once the final finishing is complete, the rug is carefully packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Our packaging is designed to protect the rug during transit, ensuring it reaches you in pristine condition.
  • Dispatch

Finally, the rug is dispatched to its new home. We take great care to ensure that the delivery process is smooth and efficient, so you can enjoy your beautiful new rug as soon as possible.
